We Are Recruiting!

We’re Expanding!

Window Repair Geeks are recruiting a trainee fitter to learn all aspects of the window and door repair business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to join a thriving business and learn a useful trade.

Who We Are

We are Window Repair Geeks, the window and door repair service covering Northants and Rugby. Our services include replacing double glazed units and repairing window and door hardware including hinges, handles, window and door locking mechanisms, sliding doors and more.

We care deeply about providing an outstanding level of service to our customers and always strive to provide a solution – even when faced with a challenging issue. Over the last eight years the business has been growing, with our customer base growing alongside it. Now we are very excited to announce the need for a trainee fitter to join the expanding team and learn an invaluable trade.

What the Role Involves

As a trainee fitter at WRG you will meet us each morning at our depot in Weedon, then accompany our team of fitters to each job of the day to learn the trade. You will be assisting in the repair of any window and door hardware, or replacement of any double-glazed units involved in the job. As you grow in the role your level of responsibility will increase enabling you to work independently.

In this role you will be given the opportunity to observe, diagnose, and resolve issues with customer hardware; using creativity and acquired knowledge to recommend and input a viable solution for the issue, while providing excellent service for our customers.

As well as repairs, you will also be given the tools and training to measure and quote for replacement double glazed units for customers. As you develop you will be able to accurately measure up units and fill out quote forms to be passed onto the office manager.

This is a customer facing role, and as such you will develop customer service skills by interacting with our customers and communicating the issues with their hardware, the solution you recommend and why it is needed.

All necessary training, tools, and PPE for the role will be provided. This is a job that you will grow into and thrive in as a valued member of a close team.

The role will pay age-appropriate minimum to begin and will increase with progression

January Lockdown Update

With the recent Government announcement on the 4th January,

announcing the country’s third national lockdown, we are happy to announce that we are able to continue to operate, in compliance with Government guidelines, however on a more limited basis.

We are now placing our fitter Corey on furlough for his own protection, which, unfortunately, will limit our fitting capacity meaning it is necessary to reschedule some confirmed appointments.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however, customer and staff safety are our highest priority.

If you have any work booked in with us in the coming weeks we encourage you to get in touch either by phone, email for Facebook messenger to get an update on your order.

If you have any questions please see our FAQ here:

Or feel free to get in touch!

Again, we apologise for any convenience this may cause, but we are continuing to work to bring the best possible service to our customers and keep you safe.

Many Thanks,

The WRG Team

November Lockdown Update

After the recent announcement from the Government last Saturday

we wanted to inform all of our customers and enquirers that we will still be operating as usual from Thursday 5th November.

We have already taken precautionary steps to ensure the safety of our customers, however, for your peace of mind, we are happy to arrange any further measures you feel are necessary.

We are still processing orders for double-glazed units; however, the new lockdown may affect lead times.

Our aim is always to provide excellent service for our customers in these uncertain times. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to get in touch by phone, email, or Facebook.

Many thanks,

The WRG Team

The Winter Season

During the Winter season

You may begin to notice some changes around the house that were not too apparent in the summer.

Not to worry though, not all of these changes mean your windows and doors are faulty or require repair, they may just require a little more maintenance!

Most commonly what you may begin to notice are condensation, and drafts

We have noticed some of our customers have reported a heavy amount of condensation on either the insides or outsides of the glass. This is nothing to be concerned about and does not mean the double-glazed unit has failed.

As long as the condensation is not in between the two panes of glass there is no failure.

If you are experiencing condensation on the inside of the window, it can be wiped off, or if you open the window it will disappear.

Typically, condensation on the inside is most prominent in bedrooms and rooms that are occupied for long periods of time

To combat this, we advise opening the vent on the window if you have one or leaving the window in the locked vent setting. Try opening your window slightly then closing the handle. It may be able to lock in place ajar allowing air to flow.

If this solution makes the room too cold at night, we advise leaving the window slightly ajar in the morning to allow the condensation to evaporate and escape.

In regard to condensation on the outside of the window, this means the air outside is condensing on the cold outer pane while the inner pane stays warmer keeping the heat in. The solution to this is simple, the condensation will simply evaporate as the air outside warms up.

This is typically the result of Low-E glass which is more energy efficient and what we at WRG fit as standard.

If you are experiencing a draft around the house or in any particular rooms, this could be the result of faulty window hinges not allowing the window to shut properly, leaving a gap between the unit and the frame.

Again, nothing to be too concerned about, it does not require the fitting of a brand-new window. As houses age hardware starts to fail, it is extremely common and to be expected in houses around 15 years or older.

WRG can replace the hinges and ensure the window shuts perfectly, usually in around 30 minutes.

As always, if you want to know more information, we invite you to get in touch!

Many Thanks,

The WRG Team
